What is Community Reporting? Does The Argus need community reporters more than community reporters need The Argus? How can community reporters tap into local resources, such as schools? Who can be a community reporter? What is their role?
This video was taken at the Brighton & Hove Community Reporters Meetup on Thursday 15 April 2010 and features the views of several people who are helping to build a local network that can answer these questions.
You are welcome to join us at Brighton & Hove Community Reporters monthly meetup – even on the night of the second Leaders Debate 22 people turned up to share story ideas, offer and receive practical help and discuss how we want to organise this growing network. It is currently free of charge.
(Apologies for sound quality but I hope it’s worth struggling through as there are some great ideas here).

Very interesting initiative. Congrats to all involved. Have a number of micro community media projects running in which students and community folk engage with one another to capture, present and archive community events/activities. Very embryonic but these too seek provide platforms for community voice.
would be willing to come and interview your students and projects for the community reporting website Peter
